GPA has designed the Belluno Alpines’ bridge in order to conform to new structural regulations regarding seismic activity. The bridge is approximately 300 m long, with a span of 37 metres between pillars and with an average of 42 m height. Due to its strategic position, the bridge’s role is intrinsic to the District’s road system functionality. For this reason the project has been developed to ensure that both lightweight motor-vehicles and public transport could continue bridging the river on both directions, even throughout the construction works. GPA’s design has involved the whole bridge’s structure, renewal of the decking, beams and foundations. GPA has been also involved in the following: Feasibility Studies, Design, Construction drawings and Site Management.
