The aim of GPA’s project is to emphasize the idea of the exchange, the communication, the flexibility between work and training spaces. The scheme of the project is also based on the interaction between the existing building and the extension which is the theme of the project. A pedestrian internal path connects the school to the auditorium also to the stairs and lift, which are the vertical connections between the floors eliminating all the architectural barriers. In this way disabled users can access all the areas (theatre, school, work and art spaces) independently. The Auditorium is divided into three identical dimensional spaces that separates the internal area into different parts. The internal partitions are sliding walls whose movement completely changes the layout of the room. When the movable walls are closed, the internal space becomes the “aggregate space” for meetings or to socialize, and the two spaces apart are the library and the services space, facing the river through a curtain wall.
