On the hills of Florence, a short distance from the old center and Piazzale Michelangelo, is the new operations center 118, in a very delicate system from the point of view of landscape, historical and artistic heritage.
The new layout, whicincludesh the first AID and crisis room, it is a very technological, among the first built on seismic isolators in Italy so it will work even under severe disasters.
The Operations Centre of the 118 is on three floors: the basement level services and utilities room, ground floor level for emergency activities, related facilities and technical support, and at the first level administrative activities and training.
The Operations Centre of the 118 completes the comb system of the existing hospital ( 1967-85 ) with a new body parallelepiped terraced, parallel to the existing volumes: cladded in natural stone
in the base, and with a upper body lightweight structure cladded in Corten panels.

As part of the project GPA was also in charge of the renovation of several floors of the existing building, in particular the new headquarters for Oncology DH and the new Obstetrics ward.
