“Marco Polo” school complex – Campolongo Maggiore (VE)
Today we want to talk to you about the project that came second in the FUTURA design competition The School for the Italy of tomorrow for the new “Marco Polo” school complex in the hamlet of Liettoli, Municipality of Campolongo Maggiore.
The project aims to establish a connection with the surrounding urban and landscape fabric.
From a structural point of view, the proposed construction system is of the dry type in engineered wood, which allows installation with assembly of the parts through metal joints and joints, without resorting to the use of mortars or other compounds.
To make the project energy sustainable, the school complex was divided into thermal zones based on the use of the functional areas, to optimize consumption and related costs and to make the sectioning of the systems easier.
Particular attention was paid to the organization of green areas and outdoor spaces, as resources for educational action and learning, and to the study of natural materials for flooring.
All this was possible thanks to the cooperation of the design team made up of GPA, Vanzega Architettura and the geologist Andrea Garbellini.
